Office Politics

Office politics "is the use of one's individual or assigned power within an employing organization for the purpose of obtaining advantages beyond one's legitimate authority. Those advantages may include access to tangible assets, or intangible benefits such as status or pseudo-authority that influences the behavior of others. Both individuals and groups may engage in Office Politics." [2]

Office politics differs from office gossip in that people participating in office politics do so with the objective of gaining advantage, whereas gossip can be a purely social activity. However, both activities are highly related to each other.
Office politics also refers to the way co-workers act among each other. It can be either positive or negative.


i've got a call from a very good fren earlier this morning. she complained on my "ex-colleagues" espescially all the women. Well, i've warned her on it when she accept the offer of working there.. at first it went well i think.. With all the happy hour and outings by the company and she was well-loved by her boss.

This is my part of the story..

Since I’ve joined that company (not actually joined la coz i was employed under third party) I mean the very first day, all of the guys greeted me well.. They smiled, they say hi, they approached.. Unlike the women’s, they just sit down there and play stupid and pretend not to notice me (show off seniority la tek?).

Few days passes by, I came to heard that they've been gossiping bout me.. Well, I dun give a damn bout it coz I know they are not the hands that feed me but sometimes it does get on my nerves.. To tell you frankly, my head of department is very flexible, caring and always take cares of his staff’s welfare.. When Everybody starts work at 7.30, I come late at 8.00am coz I have obligation towards my family (send my kid and hubby).. At 9.30am, I go breakfast. Sometimes with boss and mostly was with my good fren, came back at 10.30am (depends).. Lunch at 12.00pm till 1pm (which I came back around 1.30 or 2pm).. 3pm- tea break time and 4.30 n the dot, off pc, say good bye and off I go.. Now, tell me, is my boss the type you’ve been looking forward to work with?.. And YES, stated is my everyday routine.

My boss has never scolded me nor never a question asked. Nevertheless, all the women’s in the office seems jealous of me and 3 in particular (maybe, I am toooo hot for them). Gossiping on me is a necessary routine for them whenever they are at the pantry or any “Hypocrites” get together. They sometimes insinuated me.

One day, they have complotted to bring me down from my reigning. They complained to the DAMN, JERK Prefect...DJP called me to his room for a brainwash and on my way to DJP’s room, I saw their smirks. I felt irritated and anger overcomes me. After my brainwashing session was over, Guess what? My boss went to see DJP to brain wash him as he did me. I won't forget what he told that DJP on that particular day.. He words was “she is my family, she is in MY department, before you get to her, go through ME! Do you understand?!" I bet u can guess the looks on all that ladies who dislikes me goes especially the 3 hypocrites.... I was relieved.

Its been known that our PM dislikes the way that DJP manages things. I wonder why PM didn’t demoted DJP for his miss-use of power or even worse, terminate him.. Soon it comes to my sense that all the Project Management Team are bound to contract of 3 years.

To all the ladies of this particular company, hey hello.. I have resigned from that company, you guys should be happy coz there’s no one to be jealous of but instead you ladies are still jealous of me is it? I heard u ladies still makes up stories of me up till now.. Before you mock or whatever it is that is in it, have a view yourself in front of the mirror. In addition, ask yourself, are you perfect? Like my Good fren says “you are flawless.. But still, I’m not like you!” Shame on you women. If u still want to talk about me, carry on coz you will never go anywhere while i get famous because of you. And the best thing is, I’m on top of you! .. wakakkakakka... to my good friend, patience and perseverance..
